The National Aids Control Organisation, NACO has identified 122 districts and 80 railway stations for intervention across the country to check spread of HIV virus. The migration ratio of people from these areas to high prevalent areas is high. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, the Director General NACO Mr. K. Chadramuli said that the apex aids control body will target the source and distribute information booklet of HIV/AIDS and other related information to the migrating population. He said the organisation has also submitted a proposal to the global fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. The global fund is a multilateral funding agency on public private partnership pattern to tackle the threat from the disease to the migrating population. He added that in the next three to four years, the problem areas for the spread of HIV/AIDS will be migrant population especially those migrating from low prevalence to high risk areas. The NACO has also signed an agreement with the global fund to cover programmes like integrated counselling and testing services, prevention of parent to children transmission .
