The National Advisory Council (NAC), headed by UPA Chairperson, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, will meet in New Delhi today to firm up its stand with regard to the proposed National Food Security Act. The meet will also deliberate on the availability of food grain storage and the state of the Public Distribution System. AIR correspondent reports that the NAC is expected to resolve two key questions, the number of people who will get rice and wheat for 3 rupees per kg and fixing the price of food grains for people living below the poverty line. The NAC in its last meeting was of the view that all vulnerable, needy and poor sections of society ought to become an integral part of the scheme.
