The National Advisory Council has decided to have another round of discussions to finalise the proposal on the draft food security bill. The next meeting will be held on 23rd of next month. The meeting presided over by Council Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was briefed about the proposal by the Convenor of the Council on the issue Harsh Mander on the proposed bill. Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia also made presentation placing his point of view on the issue.Secretary Food and Public Distribution, Women and Child Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation also made their presentations to share their point of view on the issue. Our Correspondent quoting NAC sources reports inclusive and enhanced Public Distribution System, child and maternal nutrition, special programmes for vulnerable groups also remained the focus of discussions in the meeting.
