NAC holds meeting to decide the draft of National Food Security Bill

The National Advisory Council (NAC) held a meeting in New Delhi today to discuss the working group's draft of the National Food Security Bill . NAC chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi and other members deliberated to give finishing touches to the various provisions of the draft bill. Our AIR correspondent reports, broadly, the draft bill lays out Public Distribution System entitlements as approved by the council. The NAC chaired by Mrs Gandhi last month decided that the new law should provide a legal entitlement to subsidisied food grains for at least 75 per cent of the population.
