National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned 2,112 crore rupees under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund to Government of Gujarat for two irrigation projects in water scarce region of Saurashtra. This will improve irrigation potential of the reservoirs in the region.<br/><br/> The project- Saurashtra Narmada Avataran Irrigation Yojana comprises four link pipelines to fill about 114 existing dams of Saurashtra region. Of the four link pipelines, NABARD has sanctioned loan for three packages each of Link 1 and Link 3.
