In Puducherry, the ruling N.R congress, congress and AIADMK are in the fray for the October 13 Indra nagar bye-polls. While AIADMK candidate V. Baskaran had already filed his nomination papers, the Congress candidate A.K.D. Arumugam and the N.R congress candidate Tamilselvan filed their nomination papers on Monday on the last day for filing of nominations.The N.R congress leader and the Chief Minister Mr. Rangasamy who won both the Indra nagar and Kathirkamam constituencies during the Assembly election, had resigned the Indra nagar seat necessitating the by-election.
