In Andhra Pradesh, ruling Congress party candidates for both Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly have been elected. N Manohar Reddy has been elected as the Speaker by getting 158 votes while his opponent KE Krishna murthy of Telugu Desam Party got only 90 votes. B Vikramarka has been elected as Deputy Speaker by getting 164 votes. The election was necessitated to fill Speaker’s post, which fall vacant ever since Kiran Kumar Reddy has taken over as Chief Minister in December last year.
