North Korea on Thursday made positive response to a U.S. proposal to discuss the issue of Korean Americans' meeting with their separated families and relatives. A Foreign Ministry spokesman said as the U.S. side intends to discuss the issue through the U.S. Red Cross Society and various official channels, the North Korean Red Cross Society is positively examining the issue from a humanitarian viewpoint despite hostile relations between the two countries. He said if both sides promote cooperation from a humanitarian perspective, it will help build mutual confidence required for solving complicated problems in the future.
