North Korea says peace is the wish of the whole Korean nation. Secretary of the Korean Nation League of Motherland Unification Yang Chol Sik on Wednesday said if all Koreans, including those overseas, were united to oppose war and safeguard peace, peace on the Korean Peninsula could be guaranteed. He said South Korean authorities halted the cooperation and dialogue with the North and constantly held joint military exercises with the United States, making the situation of the peninsula deteriorate. Mr. Yang said if the efforts to safeguard peace could be continued, the result would be better.
