United States has responded coolly to an offer from North Korea for unconditional talks to ease tensions in north-east Asia. North Korea has said it was ready to meet South Korean leaders anywhere and at any time, to end what it called, mutual provocations.A spokesman for the US State Department P.J. Crowley said North Korea must commit itself to ending hostile acts and that it should abide by an earlier agreement to give up its nuclear weapons programme.
