N Korea proposes working-level military talks with S Korea on March 2

North Korea has proposed to hold the working-level military talks with South Korea on 2nd March. While the South had earlier requested to hold the talks on Tuesday at the truce village of Panmunjom located in the inter- Korean Demilitarized Zone, the North Korea replied to meet on March 2 in Kaesong. However, the South Korean defence ministry spokesman Won Tae-jae said Seoul is considering whether or not to accept the offer. If the talks are held, the two countries are likely to share views on improving cross-border passage, communications and customs clearance for South Korean firms in a joint industrial park in North Korea, which South Korea has long been wishing for. The talks will be the first meeting between the two sides' military officials since October 2008.
