South Korea's intelligence agency estimates that the ballistic missile launched by North Korea on Sunday had a range of more than 2,000 kilometers. <br/><br/>North Korea launched the missile near the city of Kusong in the northwestern province of Pyongan-pukdo. The country said yesterday that it successfully test-fired a new middle-range ballistic missile that was an upgraded version of a submarine-launched missile. <br/><br/>Today senior officials of South Korea's National Intelligence Service briefed a parliamentary committee on their analysis of the launch. <br/><br/>People at the briefing say the officials explained that the missile was fired at an angle of 89 degrees, and that if launched at a normal angle, it could fly more than 2,000 kilometers.
