N Korea fails to meet most basic health needs of people: Amnesty International

The human rights group Amnesty International says North Korea is failing to meet even the most basic health needs of its people. The group's report was based on interviews of North Korean defectors.The report paints a picture of a health care system devoid of basic medicines and where amputations and other major surgeries are carried out without the use of anesthetics. Amnesty International found that doctors took payments for almost all services.
