North Korea has accused the United States of heightening regional tensions. It has said that North Korea supports any kind of proposals for dialogue but would never “beg” for talks.In a statement published through state media, a North Korean foreign ministry spokesman accused Washington of rejecting proposals for dialogue.The spokesman said that North Korea supports all proposals for dialogue including the six-party talks, prompted by the desire to prevent a war and realise denuclearisation on the Korean Peninsula. The spokesman also said the North Korea was producing enriched uranium for peaceful purposes to generate electricity. US State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said on Tuesday that North Korea has “at least one other” uranium enrichment site.
