The hearing on the plea of N K Amin, an accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, to become an approver, was adjourned till the 18th of this month by the CBI court in Ahmedabad today. When the matter came up for hearing today, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate A Y Dave adjourned the hearing till August 18, after lawyers of eight other accused objected to Amin becoming approver and submitted that the court did not have the jurisdiction to record confessional statements.Amin had last month filed an application in the court to become approver and had also asked the court to grant him pardon in the case. CBI had early this week said that it had no objection to Amin becoming approver, provided that he makes true disclosures about the case.
