The renowned oncologist and Chairperson of the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai, Dr V.Shanta has said, all the myths surrounding cancer should be dispelled.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”In view of the World Cancer Day, a meeting of the cancer survivors has been arranged in the premier cancer research institute today.<br />”<br />” In her address, Dr Shanta said, advancements in cancer research have made it possible to prevent disfigurement due to the disease.<br />”<br />” She urged cooperation from the public for creating awareness on the need for early detection of the disease for its complete cure and called upon all to take a resolve against tobacco consumption. She said, though people of all age groups and lifestyles are susceptible to the disease, it is preventable.<br />”<br />
