Myanmar's SC to hear Suu Kyi's final appeal today against her house arrest

Myanmar's Supreme Court is due to hear today opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi's final appeal against her house arrest. The detention of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate has kept her off the scene for the country's first polls in 20 years. Suu Kyi's lawyers will present their argument to a panel of three judges in Naypyidaw at the hearing. It is unclear when a verdict will be announced. Aung San Suu Kyi's current term of detention is due to end on the 13th of next month.Suu Kyi lodged the last-ditch appeal in May. She has already had her appeal rejected twice, most recently in February by the Supreme Court.
