President of Myanmar U Htin Kyaw will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi this afternoon in New Delhi. The two leaders are excepted to discuss a host of issues, including border management and ways to contain militant activities along the Indo-Myanmar border. Both countries share more than 1,600 kilometer long border and one of India's concerns has been the presence of insurgent groups along the border. Ways to boost trade ties between the two countries will also be figured during the talks. <br/><br/>Mr Kyaw arrived in New Delhi from Agra yesterday on the last leg of his four day visit to India.. Mr Kyaw was accorded ceremonial reception at the forecourts of the Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning. He was received by the President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. <br/><br/>Mr Kyaw is also scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukherjee and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and hold discussions on mutual interest. This is the first visit by the Myanmar President after assumption of office by the new government in March this year.
