Myanmar President Htin Kyaw reaches Gaya; offers prayer to Mahatma Buddha

Myanmar President Htin Kyaw reached Gaya in Bihar on Saturday on the first leg of his 4-day visit to India. <br/>After his arrival, Mr Kyaw went to the world heritage Mahabodhi temple where he offered special prayer to Mahatma Buddha. He is being accompanied by a 31-member delegation.<br/><br/>The Myanmar President will leave for Agra tomorrow. He will visit the Taj Mahal and head to Delhi in the afternoon. <br/><br/>On Monday, the visiting dignitary will hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. <br/><br/>A host of issues, including border management and ways to contain militant activities along the Indo-Myanmar border, are likely to figure during the talks. Both sides are also likely to discuss ways to boost trade ties.<br/><br/>This is the first visit by the Myanmar President after the assumption of office by the new government in the country in March this year.
