Myanmar claims around 400 Rohingyas return to Rakhine; Bangladesh denies

Myanmar today claimed that close to 400 Rohingya refugees have voluntarily returned to the Rakhine province from Bangladesh. In a Facebook statement issued by its embassy in Dhaka, Myanmar posted photos of 46 more Rohingyas voluntarily returning to Myanmar today through Taung Pyo Letwe and Nga Khu Ya Reception Centers. The Facebook post said that the Government of Myanmar is making its best efforts to ensure the safe, smooth and sustainable repatriation in accord with the bilateral instruments signed with Bangladesh Government. It said that with this the total number of Rohingyas returning to Myanmar is 397.<br />'' <br />'' However, Bangladesh denied that Rohingyas have returned to Myanmar.  Talking to reporters in Dhaka today Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said that according to Bangladesh record no Rohingya repatriated yet to their land of origin. He blamed Myanmar for spreading falsehood on the issue.<br />'' <br />'' On Wednesday, Bangladesh Foreign Ministry had issued a statement accusing Myanmar of misleading the international community with misrepresentation of facts. It blamed Myanmar for failing to fulfil its obligations for sustained repatriation of Rohingyas with safety and dignity.<br />
