Egyptian cargo ship MV Suez which was released by the Somali pirates is safely sailing towards Salalah Port in Oman. The 22 crew members including six Indian sailors were freed on Monday after a ransom was paid to the pirates. Director General of Shipping, Dr Satish Agnihotri told the media that Indian Navy coordinated for the safety cover of the ship after it came under fresh attack by pirates. He said, the owner of the ship will take a call for further journey after re-fueling and de-briefing in Oman by tomorrow. The ship which was hijacked by pirates in the Gulf of Aden Aug 2, 2010. Meanwhile, the families of the six Indians who were held hostage on the ship are waiting anxiously for their return. The Indians included two people from Haryana and one each from Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra. Besides six Indians, the ship had 11 Egyptians, four Pakistanis and a Sri Lankan on board when it was hijacked.
