MV Krishnaswamy to be awarded Life time Achievement Award at Mumbai Film Festival

Noted documentary filmmaker M V Krishnaswamy has been selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 11th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) for documentary, short and animation films. <br/><br/>The award, named after legendary filmmaker V Shantaram, comprises a cash prize of five lakh rupees, a trophy and a citation and will be given to 90-year-old Krishnaswamy on the concluding day of the festival which begins tomorrow. Two of his films 'Indian Imprints' and 'India 5555' will be screened at the seven-day-long festival. <br/><br/>MIFF Director Kuldeep Sinha told reporters in Mumbai today that as many as 41 countries are participating in the festival where films will be screened in competition and other sections. The inaugural films will be a 25-minute documentary 'On the Tiger Trail' by Naresh Bedi and a nine-minute short film 'Viola: The travelling room of a little giant' by Shih-Ting Hung from USA.
