Muzaffarnagar violence: Situation slowly returning to normal; Curfew relaxation period passes off peacefully

The situation in violence hit areas of Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat and Shamli districts is slowly returning to normal. Curfew relaxation period in three police station areas of Muzaffarnagar district passed off peacefully.

The curfew was relaxed from 3.45 this evening. Administration is distributing essential commodities in curfew bound areas.

Reports of sporadic violence are still coming. District Administration has deployed army and para-military forces in the villages where different communities are living. This has resulted in reduction of group clashes. One person was killed in Chhichenda village under Meerapur Police Station of Muzaffarnagar district.

The death toll in violence hit Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat and Shamli districts has gone upto 43. Senior officials are keeping a close watch on the situation.
