Muzaffarnagar limping back to normal in Muzaffarnagar, curfew relaxed

In Uttar Pradesh, the curfew has been relaxed from 10 AM to 5 PM in Muzaffarnagar city today. Authorities say, the situation in the curfew hit city and far-flung areas is fast returning to normal. It is third consecutive day of curfew relaxation, which is passing off peacefully. People in large number have come out from their houses and besides making essential purchases for their families, they are also visiting friends and relatives.

AIR correspondent quoting official sources, reports that more than ten thousand persons have been detained on preventive basis or arrested on the charges of fanning communal passion in the disturbed areas of western UP. The administration is keeping a strict vigil on every aspect of the violence hit areas including Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Baghpat and Meerut. Heavy deployment of army and paramilitary forces has been ensured to avert any untoward situation in the deep rural areas. Scores of senior officers including ADG Arun Kumar and others are constantly camping in the trouble hit Muzaffarnagar. DM Muzaffarnagar, Kaushal Raj Sharma claims that no violence has been reported since last two days.
