The Bangladesh Rifles has formed six special courts for the trial of those involved in the mutiny at the Peelkhana headquarters in February this year. In a press statement issued today, the BDR said that two courts will be at Dhaka and four will be outside . The Special Courts were constituted as per the Bangladesh Rifles Order 1972. The Director General of the Force will head the three-member Special Court. An officer of lieutenant colonel rank and a major of BDR will be the members. The special courts will only judge the mutiny cases, the statement added. The mutiny took place on Feb 25-26 this year at the BDR headquarters where at least 57 army officials including its chief Major General Shakil Ahmed were killed.
