Must work to stop brain drain: Ansari

Providing affordable and applicable learning and closing the gap between policy intent and actual delivery should be the focus for achieving educational excellence in the country. This was highlighted by Vice-President Hamid Ansari at the 41st convocation of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi today. Ansari expressed concerns over large number of IIT Graduates not pursuing research and teaching within the country and instead going abroad for higher education. Terming this as an opportunity loss for the academic institutions and the nation, he said there was an urgent need for curriculum reform, faculty development and innovation to retain and attract good faculty.
