The Senior Deputy Mayor of Jalandhar in Pujab Municipal Corporation, Mr. Kamaljit Singh Bhatia was allegedly beaten up by a group of Corporation employees in the presence of Municipal Commissioner in his office, yesterday. The incident happened, at a meeting with the employees regarding a dispute. Mr. Bhatia received some injuries on his face and neck and was given medical assistance in the civil hospital. AIR Jalandhar Correspondent Rajesh Bali reports that cases have been registered by the police against some people on the complaint of both the parties and further investigations are on. The Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Bublani also confirmed that action will be taken against the guilty.
