Undeterred by the accidental fire at Girgaum Chowpatty last night, day 3 of Make In India Week, Mumbai went on as scheduled. MMRDA Grounds was seen bustling with more than 12,000 visitors, exhibitors and participants today. Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Manohar Parrikar, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman and MoS (Information and Broadcasting) Rajyavardhan Rathore were among those who participated in seminars and panel discussions listing out various government initiatives. The Maharashtra Investment Summit was highlight of the day. <br/><br/>The third day of the Make in India Week Mumbai saw huge investments coming Maharashtra's way. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today announced that Maharashtra has signed more than 2500 MOUs worth about 6.11 lakh crore rupees. Mr. Fadnavis said these investments would create approximately 17 lakh new jobs in Maharashtra. Restating the government's commitment to ease of doing business, Mr. Fadnavis launched the state single window policy which will be a one stop shop for granting approvals to industries.<br/><br/>During the 'Maharashtra Investment Seminar', Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also launched four new policies for development of retail, electronics, ports and SC/ST. The Chief Minister further announced that government is drawing up a comprehensive plan to integrate all modes of transport, including roads, bridges, bus, metro rail, railway and monorail for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. He said creating a seamless mobility transport ecosystem is the need of the hour and the sector can attract investments of nearly Rs 4-5 lakh crore over the next decade.
