Mumbai terror attack anniversary remembered in Bangladesh

<span style="color: #222222;">The 13th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks was observed in Dhaka with a programme organised by the Forum for Secular Bangladesh and Trial of War Criminals in association with the Bangladesh-India Friendship society on Friday. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was the Chief Guest on the occasion. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami participated in the event as special guest.<br />'' <br />'' Speaking about the horror of terrorism Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that Bangladesh is opposed to any attack on the people of India because both the countries share a historic friendship.<br />'' <br />'' High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami recalled the Mumbai terror attack,  in which he like many others,  lost a friend. He said it was an event planned and coordinated real-time by state entity handlers across borders. Secondly,  it was a uniquely a commando  assault, by terrorists trained by military officers. And thirdly, this incident also had roots in the unaddressed war crimes and atrocities of 1971, in Bangladesh and in impunity for other acts of terror in India and Bangladesh, said the High Commissioner.<br />'' <br />'' A film show and photo exhibition was organised on the occasion showing the horrors of the terrorist attack in Mumbai and similar other events in Bangladesh sponsored and promoted by Pakistan. The exhibition will continue for three days till Nov. 28.<br />''<br />''Freedom fighter and retired Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, educationist Shyamoli Nasreen Chowdhury, Human rights activist and MP Aroma Dutta and Major General (Retd) Abdur Rashid among others took part in the discussion. Freedom fighter and eminent journalist Shahriar Kabir Chaired the programme.</span>
