Mumbai terror alert: Indian Navy calls off operation, police continue search

Despite a massive search and combing operation by Navy and Police officials, no suspicious movement of boats or men has been detected in Uran. While the Indian Navy has called off the operations, local police is still continuing its search. Navy PRO Commander Rahul Sinha has informed that Indian Navy has completed sanitisation of naval areas and continues to maintain close liaison with local agencies for further development. <br/><br/>More than 36 hours after five to six suspicious looking armed people were spotted by some school children in Uran; the search operation has not yielded any result. Speaking to AIR, Navy PRO Commander Rahul Sinha informed that Navy has completed the search and combing operation. He confirmed that no suspicious activity has been detected. On the other hand, Navi Mumbai Police continues to remain alert and has issued sketches of two suspects. These sketches were prepared on the basis of the statement provided by two school students who saw the armed men. According to sources, both these students were today questioned by Navi Mumbai Police and NSG officials. Their detailed report is likely to be submitted to Maharashtra DGP later tonight. Local police agencies are still conducting surveillance of all boats passing along the coast of Mumbai and all traffic movement is also being monitored. Meanwhile, all schools and colleges in Uran and adjoining areas remained closed today.
