Mumbai special court in Arthur Road Jail today awarded death sentence for Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of 2008 Mumbai terror attack. He has been awarded death on four counts and life term on 6 counts. Kasab now has the option of appealing to higher courts. The special 26/11 trial court in Mumbai heard the arguments on Tuesday and announced the quantum of sentence today. Kasab was found guilty 86 charges brought against him for planning and executing the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. The trial, perhaps the fastest in a terror case in India recorded 3,192 pages of evidence after examining 296 witnesses on 271 working days.
