Mumbai sail into Ranji final to set up clash with Saurashtra

Mumbai will meet Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy final. The summit clash will be played in Pune from February 24. It is Mumbai's first entry into the Ranji final in three seasons. They made it to the final on the basis of first innings lead as their five-day semi-final against Madhya Pradesh ended in a draw on the concluding day in Cuttack today. Madhya Pradesh, who needed to chase a mammoth 571-run target in little more than four sessions, ended their second innings at 361 for five. Mumbai were denied an outright win due to fighting centuries by wicket-keeper batsman Naman Ojha and Harpreet Singh. While Naman Ojha made 113 Harpreet Singh was out for105. Madhya Pradesh had starting the day with their second innings score standing at 99 for 2. The final scores:- Mumbai 371 and 426. Madhya Pradesh 227 and 361 for 5. Saurashtra had defeated Assam by 10 wickets in the other semi-final which concluded at Vadodara on Monday.
