It has been one year since Mumbai witnessed one of the deadliest terror attacks in which 172 people were killed and more than 300 were injured. Out of the ten terrorists who came by sea, nine were killed by the security agencies in a battle raging 60 hours and a Mumbai court is hearing a case against the lone surviving terrorist, Ajmal Kasab. Here, the case is nearing an end with the prosecution having examined more than 250 witnesses. Meanwhile, on Wednesday a Pakistani anti-terrorism court formally charged seven suspects, including LeT commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, for planning and helping execute the Mumbai attacks. Also, on the eve of the first anniversary of the attacks on Wednesday, various functions were held across Mumbai. A candle light vigil was held at Gateway of India. A memorial service was organized at Keneseth Synagogue which was attended by Israeli Ambassador, Mr. Mark Sopher along with Consul Generals from US, Italy Canada and Germany. Many functions including a security parade by Mumbai Police will be held on Thursday to mark the anniversary of 26/11.
