With the intelligence input of terrorist entering in Mumbai to disturb peace during festive occasions, Police has taken special security measures for the ensuing New Year celebrations. Police said vigil has been heightened to avert any terror threat emanating from land, air and water. Roads near the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel have closed down and the area has been put under complete surveillance in view of the festivities. Similar security arrangement was in place near Taj during the visit of US President Barack Obama, who stayed in the plush hotel, in early November. According to police, most of the possible terror targets are situated in south Mumbai. Security has been strengthened at vital installations, railway stations, crowded areas, religious places and embassies. It may be recalled that last week Police had issued an alert due to specific intelligence inputs that four terrorist of the Lashkar e Toiba have entered the city with an intention to carry out attacks that will be violent in nature and may cause large scale destruction. Police had revealed the names of the terrorists as Abdul Karim Musa, Walid Jinnah, Noor Abu Ilahi and Mahfooz Alam. Police has also released the sketch of Walid Jinnah who is one of the members.
