<span style="color: #222222;">Following the massive fire in MTNL building in Bandra on July 22, internet and telephone services in the nearby areas remain affected. <br />'' <br />'' In a statement issued from Mumbai today, MTNL has said that efforts are on to restore the services adding that it may take about a week for normal services to resume.<br />'' <br />'' With the fire destroying cables and other equipment, telephone and internet services of customers in Bandra Reclamation, Kalanagar, Kherwadi, Pali Hill and some other surrounding areas have been affected. <br />'' <br />'' In its statement, MTNL has expressed regret for the inconvenience and requested customers to support the telecom company in its hour of crisis.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, cooling operations continue to ward off the smoke and eliminate any chances of ablaze. According to the chief of Mumbai fire brigade, Mr P S Rahangdale the fire was confined to office furniture, computers, electric wiring and UPS batteries on the second, third, fifth, seventh and eighth floors.<br />'' <br />'' In one of its biggest rescue operations, the Mumbai Fire Brigade had yesterday safely evacuated about 84 people stuck on the terrace of the nine-storeyed MTNL Building. </span>
