Mumbai Metro service to open to public soon

Mumbai metro authorities have announced that the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar metro route will operate for 18.5 hours every day. According to an official the trains will run between 5.30 am and midnight with a train running every four minutes during peak hours and seven minutes during non-peak hours. He informed that trials for the first phase of the Mumbai Metro ended recently with authorities saying the service will soon be open to public. he further added that the metro team will inform the railway ministry once it receives the safety certificate, following which the line will be open to public. The MMRDA has also begun work to decongest the access points that lead to the metro stations. As per the station area improvement plan, the 100-metre space outside metro stations has been termed 'influence zones' where parking, hawkers and encroachments have been banned.
