Mumbai Magicians shifted to Delhi over Shiv Sena's protest

The Mumbai Magicians team, which is part of the Hockey India League, was shifted to Delhi on Monday morning. The shift was followed by the Shiv Sena protest's that disrupted team's practise session due to the involvement of Pakistani players in Mumbai team. Speaking to media persons in Mumbai, Hockey India Associate Joint Secretary Manoj Bhore said that it was decided to shift the team to Delhi. <br/><br/>He said the team left by the early morning flight. Bhore informed that over 100 Shiv Sena workers on Sunday afternoon protested against the participation of four Pakistani players in the Mumbai franchise and had disrupted the scheduled practice session.<br/><br/>According to Bhore there are nine Pakistani players contracted to play in the six-team Hockey India League and Mumbai Magicians, a franchise of the league, has signed up four Pakistani players. He added that the National hockey committee will decide whether to include Pakistani players in the matches to be held in Mumbai.<br/><br/>The Mumbai team is scheduled to play its first match in the national capital against Delhi team on January 16. <br/>
