Mumbai pulled off a thrilling six-run win over Karnataka to claim the Ranji Trophy in an exciting final at Gangotri Glades Grounds. Mumbai lifted the coveted domestic trophy for the record 39th time bundling out Karnataka for 331 in the second innings on Thursday. Earlier, Karnataka chasing a target of 338, resumed their second innings at 135 for 3. Despite the brilliant act by Manish Pandey, who took the home team to the doorsteps of victory and a fighting 75 by Ganesh Satish, the later order failed to live up to the Mumbai attack and fell just short. Karnataka's hopes were brought to a naught as veteran speedster Ajit Agarkar ran through the lower order claiming five for 81.
