Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 8 runs in the IPL cricket league match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai last night. Chasing a target of 164, Chennai team could make 156 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. S Badrinath remained not out at 71 in 48 balls. M Hussy scored 41 runs. Harbhajan Singh was the most successful bowler claiming 5 wickets for 18 runs and was declared Man of the Match. In another match, Chris Gayle struck a brutal unbeaten 102 off 55 balls to steer Royal Challengers Bangalore to a crushing nine-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata. Chasing a challenging target of 172, Gayle, playing his first match of the tournament, won the match virtually single-handedly with 11 balls to spare.
