Mumbai experiencing continuous rainfall since morning

Mumbai and parts of its suburbs are witnessing incessant rainfall since this morning. The weather bureau said that from 8.30 last night till 11.30 this morning, Colaba station of south Mumbai recorded 218.6 mm of rainfall while the suburban Santacruz station recorded 119.49 mm of rainfall. According to the civic officials, as of now there are no reports of water logging from across the city. However, the continuous downpour has slowed down the vehicular traffic in some low lying areas of the city. Local trains on Central and harbour lines were running normally. Meanwhile the Konkan region of Maharashtra is also experiencing heavy rainfall with the Sindhudurg district receiving 706.06 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. The weather bureau has forecast spells of rain or thundershowers accompanied by strong gusty winds with possibility of heavy rain in some areas of the city for next 24 hours.
