Mumbai Court today allowed Mumbai Police's plea to make Pakistani-American LeT terrorist David Headley an accused in 26/11 terror attack case. The court issues summons to Headley and directed that he be produced via video-conferencing on December 10. <br/><br/>Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam had earlier informed the court that charges against Headley are distinct and separate from the offences under which he has been punished in the United States and the American court is not competent to try offences under the Indian Penal Code. <br/><br/>Sessions Judge GA Sanap had also commented that Headley should have been made a wanted accused in the case. After hearing the arguments, the court reserved its order till today on the application stating that Headley deserves to be tried by the Mumbai court along with Abu Jundal as both are conspirators and abettors. <br/><br/>Headley has confessed about his role in the 26/11 attack before US authorities and was indicted for several terrorism related charges. He was sentenced to 35 years' imprisonment by the US court.The Pakistani-American travelled to Mumbai six times between 2006 and 2008 to conduct reconnaissance of the target locations. He had entered into a plea bargaining agreement with the US government.
