Mumbai’s Metropolitan court has issued production warrant against suspected Laskhar-e-Taiba terrorist Sayed Zabiuddin alias Abu Jindal for his alleged role in the 26/11 terror attack. A few days ago, Delhi Police had arrested Abu Jindal.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, P S Rathod issued the warrant on an application filed by special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam and Investigating Officer of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack’s case Ramesh Mahale. Mr. Nikam told the court that Jindal had played a key role in conspiring the 26/11 terror attack. He added that Ajmal Kasab, in his confession had said that Jindal taught them Hindi and interacted with them on telephone from Karachi during the attack.

The prosecutor pleaded that there was sufficient evidence against Jindal in the 26/11 case and sought his custody for interrogation.

A team of Mumbai police can now go to Delhi and seek Jindal’s custody and put him on trial.
