Mumbai court issues non-bailable warrant against Zakir Naik in money-laundering case

Mumbai's special court has issued a non-bailable warrant against controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik in connection with a money laundering case.<br/><br/>Enforcement Directorate had moved the PMLA court on Monday seeking non-bailable warrant against Naik; as he had not joined the investigation so far. <br/><br/>Although ED had repeatedly summoned Naik, he has failed to appear before it.<br/><br/>The ED is looking into the charges of alleged illegal funds laundered by Naik and the subsequent proceeds of crime thus generated. ED had registered a criminal case against Naik and others last December after taking cognisance of an NIA complaint under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. <br/><br/>51 year old Naik; founder of Islamic Research Foundation has been charged for his alleged involvement in radicalising Muslim youth and luring them into terror activities.
