Mumbai bracing itself with heavy rainfalls since morning

Mumbai is bracing itself with heavy rainfalls since this morning. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that there has been a forecast for 'heavy to very heavy' rainfall across Mumbai as well as in Konkan and Goa in the next 24 hours.

AIR Mumbai correspondent's report:-
"Mumbai city and suburbs drenched in heavy rains today. The Colaba weather observatory recorded a rainfall of 95.8 mm while the Santacruz observatory reported 34.6 mm rainfall throughout the day today. The rain has also improved air quality in the city and brought the rainy chill in the weather.

Mumbaikars were seen enjoying the rains at their neibourhoods and also at iconnic marine drive and famous Girgoan chowpati this evening. The heavy rain led to several incidents of trees and wall collapse across the city and suburbs however, no casualty has been reported. The road and air traffic was running smoothly.

Though the heavy downpour has not disrupted the suburban local rail traffic as it was witnessed earlier this week, all the three the local train services were running 10 minutes late today. The meteorological department has issued a warning to fishermen not to venture into the sea in the wake of heavy rain forecast in the next 24 hours."
