In a unique initiative, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has roped in a tree surgeon also known as an arborist or arboriculturist to assess old trees and protect them from falling.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''According to an official from BMC, city-based Arborist Vaibhav Raje has been appointed in BMC's D-ward, which includes areas such as Malabar Hill, Tardeo, Peddar Road and other locations in Mumbai. He will study around 100-150 trees of the D-ward and suggest ways to prevent them from falling. As per the plan, the Arborists get a base map on the trees under high-risk and low-risk and then build a road map to work on the trees.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, BMC Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that the officials are trying to promote plantation of indigenous trees which hold the ground for many years.</span><br />
