<br/>Autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai called-off their strike after the Maharashtra Government decided to hike the auto fares. The decision was taken after the meeting with the state transport officials. The autorickshaw fares have been increased by 2 rupees in Mumbai and Thane. <br/> <br/>Meanwhile the taxi union continued to remain on strike as the decision on hike in taxi fares has not been taken yet. <br/> <br/>AIR Mumbai Correspondent reports, the decision was taken after the meeting of state transport officials and various taxi and auto unions in Mumbai on Tuesday. <br/> <br/>Following the hike in auto fares the autorickshaw drivers called off their ongoing strike. This was informed by Bombay Autorickshaw and Taximen's Union president Sharad Rao in Mumbai on Tuesday. <br/> <br/>The minimum fare for autorickshaws has been increased from Rs. 9 to Rs. 11 in Mumbai and Thane. Subsequently, the charge per km has been increased by 1 rupee 50 paise. The fares will be applicable from this Thursday. <br/> <br/>Meanwhile the decision on increasing taxi fares is pending. As a result of which the taxi drivers continued to remain on strike in the city. <br/> <br/>Earlier in the day, due to the auto and taxi strike, thousands of Mumbaikars had a tough time during morning rush hour. The strike forced thousands of commuters to opt for the city's already stretched bus and train services.<br/>
