Mumbai attack case: New Delhi presses Islamabad for expeditious trial as all evidence provided

New Delhi has pressed Islamabad for an expeditious trial in the Mumbai terror attack case. The External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said, India has provided all the evidence to Pakistan. During a meeting between Salman Khurshid and the Pakistan PM's Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz on the margins of the Asia-Europe Foreign Ministers conference in Gurgaon yesterday, the two sides stressed the need for the Director General of Military Operations of the two countries to meet at an early date and discuss ways to retain peace and tranquility along the Line of Control.

Talking to reporters, Mr Khursid said that for a meaningful dialogue between the two countries, conducive circumstances have to be created and it has to be done by both sides. He also expressed unhappiness over the meeting between Aziz and Kashmiri separatist leaders in New Delhi.
Later briefing reporters on the meeting, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that the principal focus of that meeting was to try and take on from where the last diplomatic engagement between the two countries ended and that was the two Prime Ministers meeting in New York.
