A multipurpose indoor stadium will be constructed at a cost of over 797 lakh rupees at Leh in Ladakh region. Officials said in Srinagar that the Central government has sanctioned six crore rupees for the stadium with a seating capacity of 1,000 spectators. Balance expenditure will be borne by Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council.The multipurpose stadium on its completion will have one basket ball, volleyball and a handball court each, three badminton courts, eight table tennis courts with two practice rooms, one gymnasium, one exercise room and other facilities.
