In Jammu & Kashmir, the Army units deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir valley have foiled multiple attempts of infiltration from across Line of Control to push armed militants to this side of LoC. <br/> '<br/>Udhampur based Northern Command spokesman told AIR that in the last 48 hours, infiltration attempts have been foiled at Gurez in Bandipora district, Machhil and Naugam in Kupwara district and Uri Sector in Baramulla district.<br/> '<br/>He said during the counter infiltration operations seven armed infiltrators have been killed so far. A soldier was also killed in Nowgam sector gunfight with militants today. Large quantity of arms, ammunition and war like stores were also recovered.<br/> '<br/>Defence spokesman said the operations are in progress at Machhil, Naugam and Uri sectors. Two soldiers have sustained minor injuries in Uri sector.<br/> '<br/>He said the militant groups were being provided active support including covering fire by Pakistan army posts on the Line of Control to assist them in infiltration into the Kashmir valley. <br/> '<br/>In the current year, 22 infiltration attempts have been foiled and 34 armed militants killed on the Line of Control.
