Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav says, his party will work on priority basis for farmers and minority community if any government supported by it comes to power at the centre.
Addressing a rally at Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, he said his party will ensure remunerative prices to farmers for their produce and will not allow the industry to exploit the farming community. He said SP government in the state has taken several initiatives including increase in irrigation facilities for the betterment of the farmers. Yadav said his government gave priority to minority in recruitment in police services .
SP chief admitted that there were administrative lapses in controlling Muzaffarnagar group clashes saying he accepts the Supreme Court's observation on it. He, however, claimed that the state government controlled violence within two-days. He said that unlike other group clashes, all the required assistance including 115 crore rupees compensation to victims was provided by the state. He said those responsible for the violence will not go unpunished.
Strongly pitching for Third Front, Yadav said neither the BJP nor Congress will be able to secure absolute majority in the Lok Sabha elections.
He also charged Congress and the BJP with not being able to lead the country to the path of development.
